Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Cubic Zirconia jewelries are treated as perfect jewelries that can be used while traveling because they are very cheap as compared to diamonds. Besides these they are very durable as compared to other kinds of gemstones and crystal ornaments. CZ jewelry is just perfect for all those diamond lovers who just wish that they could have their whole jewelry collection packed with them as their luggage. Prototype ENZO spyder

2010 Ferrari

Title: Prototype ENZO spyder designed by Papanagnou D.
Mileage: 45 miles
Location: Athens, Attiki

Would I pay $800,000 for a handmade Enzo replica if I had the money? I guess I wouldn't, I'd go for an authentic Ferrari. However would I agree to go for a ride in the Grecian Enzo? Most certainly. I mean it's not the prettiest car I've seen, though it would be nice to see it with some paint on.. eh, gold paint (now when I think about it as gold, I might have to take back my words - yea, I could take it! Gold body, red seats). But the thought that there is a man out there who built himself a Ferrari replica.. sweet.

Well the car didn't sell on Ebay, so guess it's still available.

NEW YEARS EVE STATE OF MIND: SHOES THAT KILL OR SHOES THAT COMFORT, WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?

I am in dilemma city. I have my mini dress, but now its all about what shoes will be adorning my feet. As a 4'11 girl I like to go as high as I can, usually I am willing to take the risk of falling on my face. The only thing is that New Years draws in more risk.

I will be on my feet a lot longer and in a mass of people. Should I put on my trusty black patten heels, that fit like a glove and I know will be nothing but comfort all night.....or should I just throw caution to the wind and wear high heels, that will squeeze my feet and I will probably at least trip once in? The only thing for sure is that they will look good.

It's hard to make a decision when I am being hit with shoe eye candy everywhere I go. I know what I should do, but right now am not sure what I will do?

What shoes will you be wearing this New Years?

Henry Holland's on my legs

Remember this?

Well this is what happened. Can you love a pair of tights? I do.
They come in one size so it's a little tricky, however there's a good strech. When it comes to quality, I can 100% recommend them. My nails and my tights are not the best friends, but obviously because I've paid more than ever before for a pair of tights for these (retail around €12) I try to handle them gently and keep my nails away from them. Compared to some 3 pack tights I've bought at H&M, these seem to be a lot better quality. The future will show how much life they have in them.

alice + olivia

Photos from alice + olivia online shop

May I introduce you to my new love, alice + olivia. Sometimes when you find new designers it's like an instant click - you browse the site and can't find a single piece you dislike. This is what happened with alice + olivia. I don't know if it's the styling (what can I say, I love their stylist) or if all of the pieces really are as gorgeous as they look in photos.

The only thing I want to whine about.. the prices. When a tank top with chains is $297 you can imagine how much the dresses are. I would not spend on a tank top that much, but then I see those to die for dresses and wonder is it a sin to pay $400 for a dress when you can find a pretty similar at Topshop for $100. With that said, very few of the items sold on alice + olivia are unique so the remaining question is, do we want them from that brand so badly that we are willing to pay a few hundreds more, or is a tag saying Topshop or Zara good enough?

Oh well, if not for shopping, then lets face it - the website is like a perfect lookbook, that only is a reason good enough to send you there. Go check it out!

How to Find the Best CZ Jewelry

Monday, December 28, 2009

Times have been an inevitable evidence of the items that have been elegantly acting as substitute to even the costliest items. And when it comes to acting as an elegant replacement to those costly diamond jewelries, CZ jewelry has come up to be the most excellent player. The sole reason why most of the manufacturers of jewelry are resorting to the development of this kind of jewelry is that though this kind of jewelry is lavishly beautiful, yet they are much cheaper than the costly jewelry of diamond. In simpler words, this kind of jewelry is a pure replication of the diamond jewelry.
Celebrity Style Jewelry - Bella's Moonstone Ring from TwilightPrice is always an issue for the people no matter what they are buying. And when it comes to buying jewelry, the concern becomes really demanding. Then they are concerned about the prominence of the jewelry in the fashion world while they are buying it. Therefore the CZ jewelry, especially bracelets seems to be occupying all these requirements not only when it comes to prices but to the artistic appeal that they make to the consumers. Basically jewelry is not a necessity for the people; instead they are those premium articles that make it to the list of your possessions that are related to fashion and glamour.

The basic characteristic of the Cubic Zirconia jewelry is its low price blended with lavish beauty. Hence no other jewelry product can manage to surpass the utility that this kind of jewelry does like offering elegant beauty at the most reasonable prices. Besides it is the best for them who have a limited kind of budget and want to have the most beautiful kind of jewelry at the most affordable prices. This kind of jewelry is actually a pure replica of the diamond jewelry hence, once you wear this, it becomes difficult for one to distinguish between the diamond and this jewelry.

NEW YEARS EVE STATE OF MIND: HAIR THE NEGLECTED ACCESSORY!

I am guilty, guilty, guilty! I neglect my hair in the saddest way. I was blessed to have straight hair and on any given day you will find it to be straight. I don't know how to braid, a curl doesn't stay in long enough to make it worth it, so I rarely style it. Also its the last thing I think of, its too easy to pull it up in a bun or pony tail while running out the door. But for New Years I am going to get it styled professionally. A day like this shouldnt be celebrated with a half ass bun! Here are some styles that I am pulling together for inspiration.

Two stylish ladies that I watch for hair inspiration, their both close to my age and stars on the red carpet. I don't know if I want to have my hair down, but Amanda's hair has classic movie star waves that are a complete show stopper. I am leaning towards having my hair up and Scarjo's up do is fun and flirty, two attitudes fit for New years.

I don't thinnk I could do this because of my short bangs, but if I ever grow my bangs out I would want to try this. This was inspired by the Marc Jacobs runway look, 40's hollywood glam. I would also have to get my make up done like this, the eyeliner and the dark lipstick... sultry!

The funkier side of me is being pulled in by these images. If you are going to go funky anytime soon, New Years would be it.

The messy ponytail is like the first picture in this post, for some reason "the messier the sexier" springs to mind. New Years is an all night affair so if the messy pony tail gets a little messier it wont be as noticable. Yes, its Scarjo with the updo again, its a little messier this time but still as stunning.

I haven't bought my dress yet, its true that a strapless, a v neck, spaghetti strap can determine how your hair should be.

Have you gotten your dress yet? Do you know how you're doing your hair?

6 more days of brunette

I have now booked a time to the hair dresser for a color makeover. Like I have previously revealed, my real hair color is not dark brown, I'm actually a dark blonde or something like that (or was as a kid, now I don't know what shade it would be - hopefully not grey yet). In 2005 I dyed my hair and since that I've been a brunette. Time to go back - like I say to everyone asking, if God, mum and dad gave me the light color, it can't be wrong.

The interesting question will be, how much lighter can they get me in one visit and is a color removal the only choice if I want the dark color gone. Will post pics afterwards if I have any hair left.

The Best Clip-on Earrings for Every Look

Thursday, December 24, 2009

Clip on earrings have made a comeback as of recently, with new styles and settings stealing the scene. Now, the only problem might be deciding which pair to purchase. If you’re having trouble deciding, then check out our suggestions for the best clip on earrings to wear with different combinations from your own closet.
Leesa's Abalone Clip-On EarringsIf your style is glamorous – Opt for a pair of clip earrings that have oversize rhinestones set in gold or silver tone. These clip earrings are not only fashion forward and fabulous, they’re also super affordable. This season, dark stones reign supreme, but bright colors are also a favorite.

If your style is artistic – Try adding an art deco inspired pair of clip earrings. With symmetrical designs and mixed color metal, these are the perfect contemporary accessory that works well day or night. Black and white clip earrings look great with colored outfits and geometric designs can be a fun 80s flashback, when worn in moderation.

If your style is classic – Sport a pair of delicate clip earrings in a silver or gold for a look that won’t overwhelm the rest of your jewelry. These type of clip on earrings make great everyday accessories. For safe options, go for small studs, hoop or teardrop shapes.

If your style is romantic – Go for a pair of clip earrings that are just plain pretty. Oversize pearls, large tiered chandelier or oxidized silver are all great choices that will add to the feminine appeal. Pair with a little black dress and a metallic clutch, and you’re ready to go.

If you’re not sure about any look, your best bet is to play around with different options. Lay out outfits on your bed, take photographs and keep a fashion journal of what works. You can even invite your girlfriends over and make a night of it.

Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Makes Designers Life Easier

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Apart from rings, you can see a whole range of CZ jewelry in the market. It is hence not just the rings that you can get experimental with, but the whole segment of jewelry. Be it brooches, necklaces, chokers or bangles bracelets. There is every kind of Cubic Zirconia jewelry available in the market. This compound has reduced the cost that a designer had to bear for producing diamond jewelry. With the advent of CZ jewelry, they are able to try new designs in something that was absolutely acted like diamond. Hence, they are able to try out new designs and possibilities, without compromising on the quality of the material used.
Nori's CZ Buckle BraceletCubic Zirconia is second to diamond in no way. Instead it has taken over diamond because of its properties. The biggest factor in this case is the price. Then what makes it a better is the fact that there is no ‘luck’ factor associated to it. You are sure to get it when you need it, whereas, the diamonds are found in the mines. And since they are made by the humans under created conditions, you can get the right type, and size of the stone.

And for these reasons, a Cubic Zirconia jewelry is easier to get and desirable to make. This new discovery has revolutionized the way people wear jewelry. Charm and glamour are now accessible to everyone, and hence you are able to wear your style and wish without having to think over twice, or give up anything else for that.

It has not only revolutionized the way jewelry is produced and made but also how it is worn. When you wish to wear a beautiful diamond neckpiece, you can easily get to wear one. The difference would be that it would be made of cubic zirconia. Otherwise, the appearance of the jewelry piece would be exactly like the diamond piece, or maybe even better than that!

Lushae Jewelry contest

Saturday, December 19, 2009

How about $200 credited to your Paypal account? Well sounds to good to be true, but it could be yours in exchange for advertising space on your site / blog. So if you have some empty space in e.g. your blog sidebar and think lady luck is on your side, why not enter. Every month one site that have a badge displayed wins the $200. And then there will be one grand prize winner walking away with $5000. Hopefully. Maybe.

I'm always suspicious as hell to these kinds of things (I'm a true pessimist, I really am), but right now it's 2:19 AM here and I don't have any better things to do (like sleeping), and I also didn't win the lottery today, so OK then.

So got the rules? You copy a badge code from the site, place it somewhere on your own site, and then fill in the form with your name, email and site url. Then you keep the badge there as long as you want, for each month it's visible you'll be entered to win $200. And if you win $5000, half is mine.. no just kidding.

Enter here

And because I'm right now giving away free PR here, why not continue. Whooga have a contest with same kind of rules where you can win UGG boots. End of commercial!

VOGUE PARIS: CULTURES OF THE WORLD IN COUTURE!

Friday, December 18, 2009

Vogue Paris enriches some of the world's most beautiful cultures with head to toe couture. I am completely fascinated by cultures different from my own, to me its what makes the world such a beautiful place. This editorial propels me to pack my bags and get on a plane, unfortunately its never that easy.. at least I have these to lose myself in!

This 1999 editorial spread with models Audrey Marnay, Devon Aoki, Esther Canadas and Malgosia Bela, of course embellishes a little. I doubt that a native american head dress has ever been worn with a couture gown, but this is fashion. It's supposed to be extravagant, push realities boundaries.

I have been lucky enough to travel to some amazing cities, but this only reminds me that there is so much more of the world to see.

Where do you want to travel next?

I really want to go to Portugal, Australia, Tokyo and New Zealand... and the list goes on.

How to Take Care of CZ jewelry

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Since, in the recent years the demand for CZ jewelry has increased, more and more people are buying it. It therefore becomes important to know the ways to keep the jewelry clean so that it can be used for a long time. One should remember that the cubic zirconia stones generally get dirty at mush fast rate as compared to the real diamonds. So, you need to make an effort so that your jewelry remains as good as it was earlier. If you have gold or platinum metal type of cubic zirconia jewelry then you can make use of the following tips that are given below to clean them.
Ardenne's CZ Cocktail RingIf you want to keep your CZ jewelry clean then you need to have a regular jewelry cleaner for you that can be used once in every three months. Though many people may think that regular cleaning may degrade the quality of metal but that is not true. If you do not have a regular jewelry cleaner then you can also make use of the dishwashing soap for your jewelry. All you need to do is to place a small drop of the dishwashing soap in some cup filled with Luke warm water, and then let it sit for at-least half hour.

Remember to remove Cubic Zirconia jewelry before going for shower, washing hands, or applying makeup or face powder, this is because the residues from soaps and shampoo and oil from makeup can cloud your cubic zirconia. It’s better to avoid touching the cubic zirconia stone because natural oils from the fingers can also cause dullness in their shine. You can use a toothbrush to gently scrub the stones in the jewelry but should avoid making use of harsh household chemicals on the jewelry as they make damage some stones. All these methods will surely help you in maintaining the brand new look of your jewelry.

NEW YEARS EVE STATE OF MIND: SOMETIMES ITS NOT ALL ABOUT THE DRESS - CLUTCH IT!

I may not have the dress or the shoes YET, but that doesnt mean I can't start looking at clutches. It only has to be big enough for ID, a few lipsticks, a mirror, a phone and some money, so these beautiful babies are ideal. I know some girls think that a black clutch will go with everything and will suffice just fine, but I disagree. Why shun an opportunity to pop in some color or glitz?

These are just some inspirational images because these beauties come with a heavy price tag. Kotour is completely worth every penny they ask, the mosica clutches are like art work in themselves. Sadly, I don't have that many pennies, but I can still window shop and get a little inspiration. They've definitely reminded me to keep my eyes open for a fashionable clutch, sometimes its not just all about the shoes and dress.

Kotur really thinks of every girl, the sleek clutch for the modern girl, the swarvorski clutch for the party girl, the mosiac for the trendy girl and the last two would be for the girl who likes to be a little different, unexpected. Of course one girl could feel like any one of these girls on any given day!

Will you be carrying a clutch on New Years Eve?

I always worry about setting it down, but unfortunately with party dresses they never have pockets!

Style resolutions 2010

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

I loved UK Vogue this months. A few good articles and plenty of beautiful images kept me busy reading and enjoying the issue.

20 New Year Shopping Resolutions was one of the reads that got my attention and I really want to share it with you, not only because some may find it useful, but also because I'd love to know your opinion about it. I am not going to post all 20 "new year rules", but will pick my favourites instead. If you want to know/read the rest, please let me know. All the pictures I use here are my own selection, not the ones used by Vogue. And yes, I am going to add little notes here and there because I am in a talkative mood today. Enjoy!

♥ SHOP FOR NUDE.
Update almost any colour for s/s 2010 (from dayglo lime to sky blue) by colour-blocking with this blushed neutral.

Nicole Farhi. Louise Goldin. Adam. Spring/Summer 2010

♥ STOCK UP ON SILKS AND MASTER THE ART OF TYING A HEADSCARF a la Marni.
It's an ideal way to add punch to grey winter knits (... or add a warm touch on a cold winter day, or just beautify yourself on a "bad hair day", FashionTitbits), and you will be a pro by the time you head to the beach come summer.

Marni. Spring/Summer 2010

This reminded me of Gloria Trillo from The Sopranos series (LOVE The Sopranos, by the way and funnily enough, we always watch the whole lot over Christmas) and how she wore a scarf and a hat on top of it. It looked so chic! Here's a picture from that episode, without a hat.

♥ WHITE SKIRT
Whether you play or not, get a white tennis skirt and you are half way to acquiring an Hermès s/s 2010 wardrobe; wear with a white-tipped long black cardigan.

Hermès. Spring/Summer 2010.

♥ SPEND ON JEWELLERY
It makes an old dress or t-shirt look new. Chunky bangles are a good place to start.

Bottega Veneta. Marni. Lanvin. Spring/Summer 2010

♥ BUY SHOES YOU CAN WALK IN
Note from FashionTitbits: I can say that there aren't that many style I can't walk in... and not, I am not trying to show off. But I thought it's a such a good reminder to many girls out there who'd rather kill themselves than buy better shoes or wear something they feel comfortable in. I truly believe that a woman in uncomfortable shoes never look sexy. Woman in heels - yes, woman in uncomfortable heels - no.
If heels aren't your thing yet, you can start your "training routine" by wearing wedges. My favourite and oh-so-comfortable ones are by Castañer. Or stick with classic and beautiful ballerinas and jewelled flat sandals.

Bottega Veneta. Chloe. Calvin Klein. Spring/Summer 2010.

♥ LEARN MORE HIGH IMPACT - LOW EFFORT TRICKS
Here is an example: buy a cropped tux jacket and wear it everywhere. Team it with your most shredded jeans and, somehow, you will still look smarter that everyone else.
Note to myself: I MUST find my perfect blazer in 2010. I really really really need one.

♥ PROMISE TO LOOK AFTER A WHITE SHIRT THIS SEASON
See it as your new best friend. Start over with a new one, vow to always wash it in a biological washing powder, add glo-white and spray lightly with starch before ironing. Or get it dry-cleaned.

Vogue Paris 2004

♥ DON'T ADD YET ANOTHER LITTLE BLACK DRESS TO YOUR BURGEONING COLLECTION
Break the habit and purchase a pastel-coloured confection.

Collette Dinnigan. Valentino. Luella.

Gianfranco Ferré. Donna Karan. Burberry Prorsum. Spring/Summer 2010
