First out was a short consultation at a-clinic. The clinic is located approx. 2 km from Viru Centre, in the Sikupilli shopping centre. A taxi from Viru Centre to a-clinic is 85-100 EEK, a 10 minute consultation 200 EEK. My consultation was about the chemical peels they offer there. I got some information by email at first (from another person, not the lady I met), but nothing can beat a personal visit so I wanted to hear more from someone face to face before I decide anything. Well although I pretty much got answers to my questions, I just didn't click with the woman there. You would think that when we talk about a cosmetical treatment they would have some interest to look at the skin closer, but no. I asked about a scar I have and if a treatment could be of any help but she didn't even have a close look at it, although I made it clear that the scar is the main reason for my interest in a chemical peel. I would have imagined you'd need to touch it to get an idea of how deep it is etc..? Am I totally wrong? It's the fact that she didn't seem interested at all that was a turn off for me. The language barrier might of course have something to do with it, maybe she wasn't used to communicate in English. But basically I was expecting an old man looking like Santa to grab my cheeks and say "Sara, I think THIS would be a great treatment for your skin!". Hoho.
Well surely it's an OK place, but I'll however continue my search for the Santa doing chemical peels. When I know it's "very painful", I at least want to trust the person who gets to play with acid on my skin. I want to feel that it's in their interest to make me satisfied with the result and that they are passionate about what they are doing. Will let you know when I find the perfect clinic.
My second visit was better. I went to the Skin Ilusalong for a hair color removal. The color we started with was black / very dark brown, well I'm happy to announce the black is gone. The final result wasn't as light as I'm going for, but to get it this much lighter with only one color removal and blonde stripes added is already success, so it's good to continue from this. I'll let the hair rest now for some weeks and then continue with the lightening process. Currently my hair is 20% blonde, 20% grayish brown (my natural hair color) and 60% cinnamon brown. Interesting color combination indeed, I'm starting to like the cinnamon brown.
My hairdresser was a girl named Kirke, probably around my own age. Sweet sweet girl, I 101% want to recommend her and when I return I want her again! The salon is very trendy and located only 600m from Viru Keskus. It's in a building on the Pro Kapital Business Centre back yard, can't be seen from the street so unless you know it's there, you won't find it. And if we speak prices, a lot less than in Helsinki.. hair color removal, stripes in long hair, and haircut was 1000 EEK, ~ 64€. And the whole process took about 3 hours. 5 star place!
